2nd Annual Build the Dream Fundraiser Luncheon Brings Old and New Friends Together

Ability Now held its second annual Build the Dream Fundraiser Luncheon May 9th at the beautiful Bellevue Club in Oakland. The event received sponsorship from Kaiser Permanente and the Walnut Creek Rotary.

Against a background of 1920s elegance in the grand ballroom, guests enjoyed Cobb salad and home-made tiramisu during the one hour luncheon. Board member Cecilia Green served as MC and welcomed guests. She was followed by a poem from Ability Now participant John Masterson and a passionate speech by Ability Now’s Executive Director, Leslie W. Visbal. Preceded by an inspirational video and guest speakers, Board President Alan Sauer took the stage for an impassioned ask for financial support.

Ability Now supporters have always been financially generous throughout the years, but we were pleasantly surprised that so many new guests who came to the fundraiser luncheon for the first time also opened up their wallets. We are thrilled to announce that Ability Now raised almost $150,000.00 in donations and pledges!

We thank each and every one who attended our Build the Dream Fundraiser Luncheon and for their support in our mission to educate and empower adults with disabilities. If you would like to make a donation to our Build the Dream Fundraiser, please click here.
