Spending time in the community to focus on the development and practice of independent living skills is an essential element to helping people with disabilities live fulfilled, autonomous lives. To support our participants confidence to do the things in a public setting that most people take for granted, each participant at Ability Now Bay Area is scheduled for community integration time on a regular basis. The outings are objective and learning based, and individualized for each person with emphasis on things such as money management, accessing community resources, transportation and communication.
Additionally, our clients participate in field trips to museums, parks and sports events such as Oakland A’s games and Warriors basketball games.
