The main purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of exercise training on musculoskeletal system in individuals with Cerebral Palsy, with the goal of reducing the incidence of falls and fractures. The research will consist of measured, repetitive exercises 2-3 times a week designed specifically for adults with Cerebral Palsy. Every encounter will be carefully monitored and recorded before, during and after the eight week research period.
Professor Jensen plans on repeating the study multiple times over a two-year period. This will be one of the first long-term, repetitive, quantitative studies ever done with individuals with Cerebral Palsy. As with our other community partners, Ability Now is thrilled to be part of a research study that will create positive change in the disability community.
