Through self-awareness, participants will learn skills to lead a more independent, self-directed and personally fulfilling life. To enhance skills in areas of household management, personal needs family responsibilities, food preparation, citizenship responsibilities and leisure activities. Participants w ill develop mechanism for managing everyday situations that are a direct result of having a disability and ways to build a positive self-image. Class role play will be done on certain topics to reinforce these concepts.
