Mailene Gonzales

Program Counselor

Mailene is thrilled to join Ability Now Bay Area as the program’s newest Counselor. She is passionate about helping and advocating for vulnerable populations, having previously worked as an Activities Director for an assisted living facility and with adolescents struggling with mental illness. She finds joy in enabling and facilitating enrichment in the lives of others and credits her success with the ability to empathize with individuals, build trust with her clients, and provide a safe environment during times of distress. She now uses these valuable skills at ANBA to help our participants reach their goals and passionately supports their future growth.

In her free time, Mailene loves to travel, discover new restaurants, and explore the many beautiful hiking trails around the bay with her two dogs.

Mailene received a BA in Sociology from San Jose State University.
